The departure-place of Schuitjevaart can be in the centre of Leiden on the corner of Stille Rijn and Stille Mare. Almost opposite the 'Waaggebouw' on the other side of the river 'Old Rhine'.

- Boat: 'Schuitjevaart' max. 30 pers.
- On request the experienced skipper can also be your guide.

Cruises can be made with the boat for max. 30 people. It has a transparant roof which can be opened and closed and which can move up and down. So it can pass under the lowest bridges in town, a not entirely pointless capability, since, as you no doubt will discover, Leiden's bridge builders showed a marked preference for very, very low bridges.
This boat is especially attractive for sunny summertime trips in and out of town.

A second ship for 30 people can be available on request.

The nice little saloon boat 'Wetterwille', offers seating to 11 passengers in the oak cabin.
Regardless of the season this boat will assure you a most pleasant opportunity of seeing Leiden and its surroundings.

Your captain and host
will be Koene Dirk Parmentier. Born in Leiden in 1949, naturally still unaware then of his second boat being simultaneously built, he has been living here eversince, steadily gaining thorough knowledge of all characteristics of his city, which he will share with you, telling the old townstories in his peculiar, pleasant and informal style.
